Default Filter operation time?

I have just installed a Koi pond that is 11' by 6' with a depth that goes from 2' to 4', I have a Savio skimmer and UV filter. How many hours a day should I run the system?

We always design filter systems to run continuously. That's because our designs rely on biological filtration, and when the flow stops for significant periods of time, the beneficial bacteria suffers.
