Exclamation Algae on the glass

Every couple of days my whole tank on the sides is covered in algae or something its like small brown-black dots. All the chem levels are really good. Also only a few of my snails eat it.. if that helps.

Any info on this would be great.

There could be several causes.. it's a pretty new tank and it sounds like diatom brown algae, some causes could be high phosphates, poor circulation, too long a light period, sunlight hitting the glass, old bulbs, not enough snails to keep it in check, temperature fluctuation these are just a few possibilites. as said above what are the paramaters ? what is the alkalinity?
