My sixline wrasse jumped out of my tom deco tank, he landed on the cabinet and then flipped down to the carpet!
I grabbed him as soon as I can and put him back in the tank, right now he is kind of twisted with his head up.
I see that this post was done back in June, what happened? I have yet to do a salt water tank, still working that out, but I have had fresh waters do this before (both an Angel fish and a dalmation).
It's a shame when this happens, I have had the same experience. Up to now i've only kept fancy goldfish however over the years i've had at least 4 jump the tank. Luckily i'm normally around to save the poor little guys but once or twice I havn't been. You would wonder why they do it.
If you have fish that are such prolific jumpers, perhaps you should consider putting some kind of guard in place. I used to have a piece of clear PVC that I fitted to the top of the tank to stop my escape efforts, and it was very effective.
