We ususally recommend a minimum of 1lb per gallon of live sand and 1 -2 lbs of live rock - however more of each would be better in most cases.

This was very helpful thank you however I am wondering if there is a maximum you should put it. Obviously you can't fill the whole tank with live rock and live sand but what is too much? I don't want to harm the fish.
