What are the visible effects of ammonia on any fish?

How can I visually know that the fish is being affected by ammonia in the water?

usually rapid breathing and some times red inflamed gills or skin or red streaks on the body going to the surface for air or hanging near the bottom with heavy breathing,clamped fins may also be present. With high ammonia usually comes low ph so it's a double whammy. usually if the ammonia is up the water will appear cloudy. sometimes the fish show no symptoms but die
