What kind of macro algae is best? Is ok to combine more than one type?

Best for what application?
Nutrient export ? Chaetomorpha sp.
Food ? Ive had luck feeding Tangs and rabbitfish Chaetomorpha as well as varied types of calurpa, including grape and feather. The problem is the calurpa species of macro algae will go sexual in a fuge or sump and can substantially raise your nitrates. One way to beat this problem is 24/7 lighting.

I have Chaeto, sea grape, grape and feather calurpa in my fuge. I can then thin out, put on a clip for my tangs to devourer.
