Default minimun size tank needed for a lion fish

i want to get a lion fish, whats the recommended size for my tank?

it depends what kind of lionfish you want. there are several species and most of them get big .The smallest is dwarf fuzzy lionfish. it gets about 6 inches in captivity. so a 55g tank would be good.

I suggest you research the different types of fishes out there and normally the informtion will tell you what is the minimum requirement for each fish. I have a book called Marine Fishes by Scott W. Michael. It has loads of info on all types of fish he also has one for inverts. It has helped me establish which fish goes into which tank. Which is reef safe, etc.

If you end up getting the lionfish, please don't feed it live goldfish. It is murder on their digestion, the goldfish are barely nutritional at all, and it makes them aggressive.

ya goldfish are not a good idea depending on the kind of lion you get they will all take frozen krill or silversides but might take some time the dwarf lions are the ones that are going to be the picky eaters at first 9 out of 10 time only takin grass shrimp but with a little time, effort, and a feedin stick you can get them to eat frozen in about a week or two.
