It is best to research the type of clown and find out which anemone they will except before buying one as a rule Percula or false perculas will only use the Ritteri or Rose BTA and some carpet anemones,Maroon and Tomato clowns perfer BTA,long tentacles,and sometimes Haitian condys. Saddleback clowns prefer saddleback carpets but will use Sebae anemones, Sebae clowns are not picky and will use most any host anemone except atlantic anemones. the same applies for skunk clowns Most all clowns will except the Ritteri. When anemones move around it the tank it means that they are not happy and can not find a place to settle in this can be for a variety of reasons such as to much current, not enough light etc. They don't chase after things they are just roaming for a comfortable place to be. as long as the anemone is fed properly they do not need a clown and vice versa.
